The Decibel Decoder is delighted to be hosting a stage at The Official Unofficial in Rotterdam as part of Left of the Dial.
Friday 23 October 12noon – 3.45pm will see the venue V11, a moored boat, shake to bands from Scotland alongside our friends from across the North Sea in Norway.
To learn more about each band, here is a brief introduction, beginning with Daufødt, a four piece from Oslo who will open the showcase.
Daufødt mixes raw punk and hardcore with noise rock, drone, and free improvisation. Their music shifts quickly from driving basslines and catchy rock rhythms into chaotic, distorted noise. Lyrically, they tackle sharp, critical themes, targeting selfishness, greed, and narcissistic behavior in modern society.
Please provide 5 words to describe Daufødt?
Chaotic, intense and loud, but also welcoming and open
For those that don’t know Daufødt, what song should they start with?
Probably “Glitter” of our third album or blijævlastygg.no of our second album. I think they sum up the mix of punk, noise rock and chaos that is Daufødt.
A surprising fact about Daufødt please
Three out of four have degrees in music, one of us is even writing their p. hd in music now. I’ll leave it up to whoever might come to the show to figure out who
What are you looking forward to at The Official Unofficial?
Playing some loud noise rock to wake up the crowd in the early afternoon and hopefully making some new friends in the crowd
Looking forward, what’s on the horizon for Daufødt?
Rumour has it that there is an album that’s being worked on
If I looked in your fridge right now what would I find?
This band runs on ginger shots, plain yogurt and caffeine!
