The Itch share their new single ‘Space in the Cab’ ahead of headlining The Great Escape’s First Fifty event at Sebright Arms on 13 November. ‘Space in the Cab’ sees Simon Tyrie and Georgia Hardy eulogising the UK’s once bustling nightlife culture: veering from vocoder-topped europop gem to a sobering rumination on the ever-decreasing pool of party spots. This follows April’s double A-side release of warped sibling compositions ‘The Influencer’ / ’Co-Conspirator’ and The Itch’s debut single ‘Ursula’: a metamorphic, 7-minute long homage to cult author Ursula K. Le Guin. Marking their arrival with intent off the back of ‘Ursula’, The Itch sold out their debut headline show at The Social and turned heads with a handful of festival performances in 2024 before once again disappearing from sight.
Re-emerging in summer 2025 with a collaborative record deal between Fiction Records (The Cure, Kae Tempest) and I OH YOU (Confidence Man, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever), Simon and Georgia sealed The Itch’s launch with a second sold-out headline (this time at Corsica Studios) and the release of ‘The Influencer’ / ’Co-Conspirator’ both of which saw remixes from Gabe Gurnsey of cult heroes Factory Floor.
Simon and Georgia will host The Itch: XXXmas party at Shacklewell Arms on 12 December, featuring live performances from Pearl2 and lifeloose.
