The Bobby Lees are back with new single ‘50 Ft,’ a powerfully haunting cover of PJ Harvey’s ‘50ft Queenie.’  The band brings their low, thumping bass lines and boisterous vocals to this re-imagined track. “This song is our favourite recording we’ve ever done. We’re very excited to share it.”

The Woodstock, New York trio of Sam Quartin (vocals, guitar), Macky Bowman (drums) and Kendall Wind (bass) are gearing up for their Epitaph debut, New Self, out on 12 June, marking a thrilling new chapter for the band while doubling down on what’s always made them so magnetic. After announcing a hiatus in 2023 due to burnout and deepening economic pressures, The Bobby Lees were met with an outpour of support from fans, one being actor Jason Momoa. “That was such a gift for us,” says Quartin. “It made the whole experience of making the record a lot lighter.”. Returning to writing was a welcome relief to the musician, who begins to feel ill, “spiritually and physically,” without a creative outlet.

The Bobby Lees are the subject of the premiere episode of Momoa’s HBO docuseries, “On The Roam”, airing 14 May. After one of his favourite bands announces an indefinite hiatus due to the changing music industry, Jason sets out to help them make a new album and sign to a record label. Their ferocious presence has always been undeniable, but New Self elevates their sound to even brasher heights. Produced by Dave Sardy and Alex Pasco in Los Angeles, the album sets The Bobby Lees’ signature bravado loose across a wide and reverberating soundscape.
