Brighton-based gritpop duo snake eyes are delighted to announce they will release their debut album, cash rich, on 30th January 2026 via Alcopop! Records (uk) and Grand Hotel van Cleef (ger). Self-produced by band members Jim Heffy and Thomas Coe-Brooker, the album was mixed by Tom Hill (John, Soot Sprite) and mastered by Dan Coutant (The Wonder Years, Fiddlehead, Drug Church). Commenting on the news, the band say:
“We saw our debut album as an opportunity to step in directions we’ve not stepped before. There’s a comical self-reflection on the past and the present, but eco-anxiety and the future of our planet are lyrically at the centre of the record. It marries tongue-in-cheek observation with feelings of helplessness and existentialism, juxtaposed with a couple scoops of hopefulness and a sprinkle of self-belief. In short, cash rich is a collection of doomsday foot-tappers for the fellow tree hugger. all is love x”

To celebrate the announcement, snake eyes share the anthemic climate-activism lead single ‘no cars’. Continuing the band’s outspoken ecopolitical messaging, the track is a searing indictment of big oil and its destructive, profiteering practices. Commenting on the track, the band share:
‘no cars’ is a song about oil companies prioritising profits over the environment and not being held accountable. it’s about those with true power choosing their wallets over our future. the measures put in place to alleviate emissions, like ulez, are nothing but a tax on poor people and really achieve nothing. systemic change is due, and the time is now.”

Starting the year with a raft of high profiles support slots alongside The Meffs, Dune Rats, You Me at Six, and Kid Kapichi, the pair recently announced that they will be performing as a live duo for the foreseeable future, following the departure of bassist sophie douglas last year. Following a slew of summer 2025 festival appearances, snake eyes are also today pleased to announce they will support Dinosaur Pile Up on their forthcoming September 2025 UK tour dates alongside The Xcerts, with the band’s own October 2025 German headline dates also on sale now (see below for listings)
