London based Slender Pins bring synths, scuzz and stomp to the Christmas favourite ‘White Christmas’. The band are going (mistle) toe-to-toe with Band Aid and Sabrina Carpenter in the battle for Christmas No. 1 with their “cringleworthy” version. The self-produced, self-recorded track offers a new spin on the timeless Bing Crosby classic. Singer Ash swaps out Crosby’s croon for his own trademark glam punk howl, over gurgling synths and a thumping Velvet Underground inspired stomp, punctuated by a blistering “scuzz” (whatever that means) solo from guitarist Alex. The track is very Slender Pins, the humour and vibe creating a once heard never forgotten twist on this Christmas gem.
The band is playing a festive gig on 20 December, supporting Slady at the New Cross Inn in London where the new take on Bing will be debuted live.
