LOKUSTGRIND are a 4-Piece Industrial Hardcore Punk band from Liverpool, UK, and are members of the acclaimed BRAINNEST COLLECTIVE, alongside other modern Merseyside icons, such as Veve, P.G. Sex Tape and binder. They released their debut album Strangers Have Bad Days on 13 July. From what started off as a Grindcore solo-project in 2024 from their vocalist/guitarist LOKUSTGRIND has since become one of the most talked about bands in Merseyside’s heavy underground scene due to their high energy, live performances which have been described as unfiltered, hectic, and immersive.
Inspired by artists such as Minor Threat, Nailbomb, Big Black, Ministry, and Pig Destroyer to name a few, LOKUSTGRIND fuse the raw and grueling vocals of 80’s Hardcore Punk with lyrical themes of social issues and facing a harsh reality, alongside the punching, energetic instrumentation of Grindcore and Groove Metal. To complete their sound, the Industrial soul of the group is supplied by the bass driven, ear-piercing synths.
LOKUSTGRIND released their debut single ‘SCUM SWATTER‘ alongside a music video in February 2026 . The single focuses on tight, heavy, fast instrumentation, with lyrics focusing on themes of dismantling right-wing extremism, and included a B-Side – a hectic and energetic live version of the band’s song ‘Disease Of Love‘, which ends with a modified cover of the Type O Negative song ‘Xero Tolerance‘.
‘Relapse (Don’t Fire Me)’ and its accompanying music video was released in June 2026. The single displayed a more electronic, industrial, and restrained side of the band, with lyrics focusing on introspection and depression. The B-Side ‘I’m Always Chasing The Past In A Person’ is an atmospheric, climactic, affecting track, targeting themes of loss & regret.
The group are notorious for their on-stage antics, including synthest Macks transforming into an axe wielding manic for the song ‘Be My Guest‘, and their “pit wrestling” tradition, in which Macks and resident wrestler Laurie will immerse themselves into the crowd and perform a pre-planned WWE-Style match for the surrounding crowd of gawking fans.
