South London’s Lip Filler release their first track of 2025 ‘Leeches‘, a snarling companion to the recently released ‘Tricky’ both produced by St Francis Hotel (Little Simz, Michael Kiwanuka). The new track arrives ahead of a show at the Shacklewell Arms in London Friday 17 January curated by The Murder Capital.
Seething indie-rock jostling with nervous energy, fiery frontman George Tucker’s impassioned vocal lines and potent rap bars move from resentment “I can’t even wait / I’m sick of spinning plates” to desperation “I can’t take these leeches”, backed by scorched guitar lines and an energetic rhythm section. Discussing the song’s lyrical inspiration, Tucker added:
“‘Leeches’ is about someone who’s lost control of the wheel. Letting their bad habits and insecurities get the better of them until they can no longer trust anyone, damaging the relationships of everyone they hold dearest.”
Lip Filler play Shacklewell Arms in London on 17 January as part of Friend Crush curated by The Murder Capital.
Lip Filler are currently completing work on a new project due for release later this year.
