After a period of quiet incubation, Lemondaze re-emerge with the announcement they’ve signed to Venn Records (Meryl Streek, CLT DRP), and today release their new single ‘o(type)’.  Heralding a new chapter for the Cambridge-based four-piece, whose immersive blend of post-rock, shoegaze, and grungy emotional weight has quietly built them a cult following across the UK underground, new single ‘o(type)’ arrives ahead of a slot at ArcTanGent Festival this week.

‘o(type)’ reframes the band’s early ethereal leanings into something heavier, rawer, and more direct. Equal parts ache and aggression, the track pulses with a feral intensity, nodding to the likes of Curve and Deftones while forging something unmistakably their own. There’s a haunted tenderness at the core of ‘o(type)’ – a longing that persists even after love has ended, as the band explain:

“It’s an unconventional love song, the relationship is over, but the wanting and the hurt is still present. Loving someone even though you shouldn’t, that you should move on but you can’t.

“‘o(type)’ is a purer, more honest song, it comes directly from our souls. It’s unashamedly us, about our personal relationships with love. We hadn’t made music like that before. This new music feels like a truer representation of us that captures the energy of our live sound which we have previously struggled to do.”

Produced and mixed by Matt Glasbey (Alt-J, Sorry), ‘o(type)’ was recorded between sessions in London and Brighton and forms part of a broader body of work that represents the band at their most refined to date.

Over the past few years, Lemondaze have been quietly shaping their identity in the shadows. Through constant gigging, sonic experimentation, and a deep connection to their values, their music blends ferocity with fluidity, solitude with true noise. Their recent signing to Venn Records marks a clear statement of intent, joining a label known for launching some of the UK’s most cutting-edge punk, hardcore, and alt-rock artists, including High VisMeryl Streek, and Bob Vylan. It’s a sound rooted in shoegaze and post-rock but unafraid of breakbeat, grunge, or pop structure. They’ve earned praise from legends like Miki Berenyi (Lush) and Andy Bell (Ride), and shared stages with Ridebdrmm, Just Mustard, deathcrash, Fat Dog and more.
