Alcopop! Records are delighted to announce that they have signed Faroese queer vegan shitpunks, Joe & The Shitboys, and will release their new album Greatest Shits on 29 August 2025. The record compiles the band’s first 3 albums (originally released on 7” due to their blistering 10 minute run times) plus a bundle of new tracks recorded at The Lullabye Factory in Amsterdam. Greatest Shits will be available on 12” vinyl.

Speaking about the news, front man Joe said:
“On a snowy day, I got asked if I wanted to do a bullshit one-off punk single called ‘The Reson For Hardcore Vibes’, in a band called Joe & The Shitboys—and I was gonna be Joe. What was supposed to be bullshit, turned out to be fucking fire, thus we marched on, and did our best to break down the conservative values and general assholes in the Faroe Islands, while the rest of the world got to join in if they pleased.”

“3 ‘Reson For Hardcore Vibes’ albums on 7” vinyl later, I present to you our first LP: “GREATEST SHITS”, a greatest hits album that coincidentally contains all three albums, but we’re also throwing in a brand new EP. “DAM.” was recorded on analogue in Amsterdam, and it’s our most ambitious project yet, treading into new grounds, and on new assholes. Hopefully we’re out of resons for hardcore vibes now.”

Commenting on the signing, Alcopop! Records label manager Jack Clothier said:
“We’ve been fans of Joe & his merry bunch of Shitboys for ages, so when the call came in from The Faroe Islands, you’ve gotta accept the charges, right? This band are super important to a lot of people, they’re punker than punk; all about looking after each other, calling out shitty behaviour and having the BEST time live. Have you seen them? Oh wow. The show is just outrageous! We’re absolutely made up to be working with them and the team, re-presenting old hits and new. LETS GO!”

To celebrate the news, the band are sharing lead AA single ‘SUCKBOI/LABELS’ which is out now and available to stream on all good digital service providers. Commenting on the new AA single, Joe said:
“For ‘SUCKBOI’ I wanted to cherish the few good men. A Suckboi is the opposite of a fuckboi. It’s a broski who is giving, honest, emotionally intelligent and considerate. He doesn’t take up all the space in the room. He jacks you off when he fucks you in the ass, assuring mutual pleasure, despite potential awkward postures. Appropriately, we’re also paying tribute in the song to the biggest crocodile rocker outside of Florida, Sir Elton John.”

“‘LABELS’ came about when walking around in Amsterdam and spotting a clothing store called “We Are Labels”, which we found disgusting and hilarious. It looked like a welcoming of a capitalistic dystopia, where branded products define us, and we worship the gods of the new world: the given name of overpriced items.”

Joe & The Shitboys will support punk icon and longterm Shitboys superfan IGGY POP on his forthcoming May 2025 UK headline dates. Among their numerous and vocal champions, Iggy Pop has hailed Joe & The Shitboys as the most exciting band in the world right now. After using the band’s new single ‘MR. NOBODY’ as his walk-out music for a number of shows, he’s now invited them to join his 2025 UK tour, including a massive show at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace. As a long-standing advocate for the band, Iggy has played their output extensively on his BBC Radio 6 Music show. In his NME cover feature, he revealed that he played their music to Blink-182’s Travis Barker before he laid down the drums for album track ‘Neo Punk’ and even shared his admiration for the band with none other than Rick Rubin on the Broken Record podcast.
