Edinburgh’s Hidden Door is teaming up with Bellfield Brewery for two nights of music and spoken word this August
As Edinburgh gears up for another packed festival season, local legends Bellfield Brewery have launched their own mini festival with a bold, alternative programme. The ‘Taproom Sessions’ take place just outside the main city-centre festival hub at its working brewery in Abbeyhill, offering a relaxed and welcoming platform for film, music and spoken word.
Running from 3-24 August, Hidden Door are proud to be curating two of the nights:
Sunday 17th August
Music from Esther Swift, Blair Coron and Gaze is Ghost
Spoken word from Iona Lee and Katie Ailes
Sunday 24th August
Music from Mike McKenzie, Doom Scroller and Thundermoon
Spoken word from Josh Cake and RJ Hunter
The events are designed to support local independent artists, with 100% of ticket profits going directly to the performers and Hidden Door.
In addition to Hidden Doors two nights, the Taproom Sessions present acclaimed artists including Adam Holmes, The Phil Bancroft Trio, Cahalen Morrison and Kate Young. There will also be special live film score performances by Graeme Stephen, accompanying silent classics Nosferatu and The Penalty, as well as free live DJ sets including DJ Dolphin Boy.
