NEWS: Fear of Marko releases new single ‘Thorns’ ahead of opening for Ugly Club at the Deaf Institute on 13 December

Fear of Marko has released new single ‘Thorns’ a song that explores a toxic relationship. Fear of Marko was borne out of Manchester’s underground scene and ‘Thorns’ sees the artist share their most experimental track to date. Taking influence from Drum and Bass, Emo and Happy Hardcore, ‘Thorns’ is a glorious blend. Trippy and bouncing, the calm intro belies whats to come. Fear of Marko aka Marcus Anthony Connolly is not afraid to mix it up, however the result is still cohesive and tight. Expanding on the background to the new single:

“’Thorns’ is about the breakdown of a relationship, it tells the story of a failing couple highlighting both subjects flaws. I feel like it sounds like a messy night out that ends in an argument. I liked the idea of changing it up massively for this song, I was so used to staying in one lane with my sound and trying to establish something that was authentic to me but I think that was limiting my range and ability to create music outside of one box.”

Fear of Marko will open for Ugly Club at Manchester’s Deaf Institute on Friday 13 December.
