Glasgow’s Fatale let the handbrake off have shared the self-directed video for ‘Jesus Christ’, the lead track from their debut EP St. Mungo, which is a vinyl only release and sold-out on pre-sales.
The band have been already been supported on BBC 6 Music by Emily Pilbeam and Radio X by John Kennedy who both played ‘Jesus Christ’ ahead of release, as well as BBC Introducing Scotland. They take the set texts of Scottish indie music – Jesus & Mary Chain, Teenage Fanclub, Primal Scream – and throw in The Strokes and Lemonheads to create a searing sound. The five skinny kids from Glasgow have been tearing it up in their hometown in the last few months, They’ve sold-out the classic venues King Tuts, McChuills and The Poetry Club. Live shows are a hurricane of limbs and legs, hearts and souls. It’s the sound of youth bottled, concentrated. This is charging out of work and racing to see your mates. Capturing the joy, feeling the power of communion, the sound of community. It’s a timeless rallying cry built for the summer.
