Glasgow’s Escape Goats release their new single ‘Best Laid Plans‘. It’s the bands 6th studio release and sees a slight departure. The track begins in their usual territory, off kilter indie-punk-rock with sharp guitars and drums, plus distinct and quirky vocals. However it then kicks into an Emo pop-punk anthem, and what a class sharp left hand turn it is. From guitarist John Mclinden’s clamouring vocals during the verses, to drummer Adam Parker’s melodic chorus vocals, this song (produced by bass player Andrew Shepherd) is guaranteed to hold your attention until the final chord. To see a band move out of their lane and create the unexpected is a joy, especially when it works so well as on ‘Best Laid Plans’. The single was recorded at Venice of the North Studio and mastered at Esko Mastering in Finland by Robin Sutherland.
Escape Goats formed at the start of 2024, a three-piece alternative/punk band comprising John McLinden (Guitar/Vocals – formerly in MEMES), Adam Parker (Drums/Vocals – formerly in Make Sparks) and Andrew Shepherd (Bass – Co-owner of Venice of the North Recording Studio in Glasgow).
