London four-piece Cardboard share new single ‘Wouldn’t Let You Realise’. It follows last year’s release ‘Pipe Dream’ and continues their youthful spirit of defiance, determination and lightning-bolt chemistry reminiscent of the 00’s indie scene. They’ll play a free show this upcoming Monday 27 January at London’s Sebright Arms as part of Independent Venue Week.
Frontman/guitarist Dan Hacker says of the single:
“’Wouldn’t Let You Realise’ is about you, your friend, your partner, your sibling, anyone who’s ever been blind to someone who is only out to tear them down. Picking apart the pieces of life that make them whole all the while distracting them with lies and false promises
It comes from the perspective of a bystander, who tries to pull the blanket from over their eyes to no avail. The music around the words embodies the anger and frustration of the third party watching this relationship play out, while seemingly not being able to do anything to help.”
