Dublin noiseniks Bucket today release new single ‘Nonsense’. Packing elements of garage, noise, hardcore and electronic music into a volatile three minutes, it’s a song that simmers with tension before collapsing into something erratic and confrontational. Bucket will embark on a co-headline tour of Ireland with Heavy Lungs this February, with festivals including ArcTanGent and FOCUS Wales confirmed for later this year. With a uniquely abrasive and punishing sound, earning them a reputation (half myth, half warning) as Dublin’s loudest band – new single ‘Nonsense’ follows showcases last week at Eurosonic along with recent festival appearances at Primavera Sound, New Colossus (New York), and Supersonic Block Party (Paris).
Mixed and engineered by Dublin electronic artist and producer James Eager (Lankum, The Scratch), ‘Nonsense’ marks a clear expansion of Bucket’s world following 2025 debut EP Muck. Pulling from noise rock, hardcore and electronic music, ‘Nonsense’ builds methodically before splintering into jagged rhythms and abrupt dynamic shifts. Danceable momentum clashes with crushing guitar tones, reinforcing the band’s ability to balance control and total chaos. Lyrically, vocalist Cian Dahdouh taps into society’s fixation with extreme psychology and the uneasy voyeurism of true crime culture, as he explains:
“The song is written from the perspective of a fictional stalker, unfolding as an internal monologue that exposes their obsessive and unsettling mindset. It draws on feelings of paranoia and being watched, alongside society’s fascination with mentally unstable people who commit horrific acts. The popularity of true crime reflects a desire to understand how these minds work, which pushed me to explore that space.”
