Dublin-based experimental noise-rock trio Bucket today return with new single ‘Strung Out’, ahead of a string of UK headline dates this month in London, Bristol and Manchester. ‘Strung Out’ follows Bucket’s Mosaic EP, released in April of this year.

Self-recorded and produced between Transmission Rooms Studios in Longford and The Grand Social in Dublin during August of this year, ‘Strung Out’ reckons with modern Irish identity, and was mixed and mastered in New York by Jeremy Snyder (IDLES, DITZ, Gilla Band). With abrasive sound design increasingly central to Bucket’s music, ‘Strung Out’ tears between scorched guitar lines, fearsome breakbeats and erratic time signatures, its verses settling into a lurching, physical groove before erupting into crushing guitars, seismic low-end and vocal fury.

Speaking about the track, vocalist Cian Dahdouh said:
“The song is about the conflicting feelings of pride and shame surrounding national identity. We want to be proud of our country and culture, but at the same time we can’t ignore the major issues affecting it and everyone living here. We were inspired to write it after feeling that the huge growth in popularity of Irish culture and media on the global stage was something of a double-edged sword.”

Following April’s Mosaic EP, ‘Strung Out’ marks the beginning of a new musical chapter for Bucket. Currently finishing their next body of work, the trio have begun experimenting with lower tunings and putting an even greater focus on the interplay between their guitar work, electronic textures and increasingly volatile arrangements. Forged as much onstage as they are in the studio. New songs are regularly tested live before being rewritten and reshaped according to both the band’s own instincts and the reaction in the room. That process comes after a year in which Bucket’s reputation as one of the most formidable live bands emerging from the heavy music underground has continued to grow.

Alongside recent dates supporting Knocked Loose, the band delivered acclaimed performances at ArcTanGent Festival and FOCUS Wales, with Rock Sound describing the latter as: “Disorientating, obliterating noise”.  Following the band’s debut London headline earlier this year, Metal Hammer / Louder said: “…the loudest band I’ve seen in 40 years of gig-going. 2026 could be the year that the word-of-mouth buzz around the band grows from a whisper to a scream.”

That word-of-mouth momentum has been building steadily since Bucket emerged from Dublin’s DIY scene in 2021. Formed by guitarist/vocalist Cian Dahdouh and bassist Emmet McNamee, who met in college after arriving from garage-punk and metal/hardcore backgrounds respectively, and now joined by drummer Korey Thomas (Bricknasty), the trio first established themselves through ferocious live shows and an increasingly uncompromising recorded output. Standalone singles ‘Who Knows?’ and ‘Budgie’ arrived in 2024 before debut EP Muck in 2025. Its follow-up, Mosaic, saw Bucket push further into electronic experimentation, hardcore intensity and shape-shifting structures, produced alongside James Eager (Lankum, The Scratch).

The band have continued that ascent with performances at Eurosonic – where Dutch broadcaster 3voor12 named them among the festival’s highlights – alongside Primavera Sound, New Colossus in New York, Supersonic Block Party in Paris, FOCUS Wales and ArcTanGent.

With ‘Strung Out’, Bucket now offer the first indication of where they are heading next. Bucket support The Scratch in Limerick tonight, before playing headline shows in London, Bristol and Manchester later this month, alongside festival slots at Sŵn in Cardiff and Croc The Rock in Switzerland.
