Australian new wave/post-punk band Radio Free Alice share their new single ‘Big Ideas’, featuring Water From Your Eyes vocalist Rachel Brown. Taken from Radio Free Alice’s upcoming debut album What’s In Between, out 30 October via Atlantic Records, the song saw its live debut last week at the band’s free, DIY pop-up show in Chinatown, LA, where Owen Schatz (Turnstile, Amine, Adele director) shot the official video which also lands today.

“From early on we felt that a second vocal would work well with the song, a kind of call and response,” frontman Noah Learmonth says of the collaboration. “We’ve loved Water From Your Eyes for years, and had gone to their show when they came to Melbourne. We felt like Rachel would be perfect, they have such an interesting, distinctive voice.”

Today’s single and the album at large sees the band continue their work across continents with producer Peter Katis (Interpol, Death Cab for Cutie, The National). Ewan Pearson (Depeche Mode, M83) and Finn Billingham (HighSchool, Sam Akpro) also contribute production across What’s In Between.

Having moved to Naarm/Melbourne from their native Sydney aged 18 to pursue music full time, Radio Free Alice were soon selling out residencies and inciting queues around the block before taking their brand of hook heavy post-punk on the road across the UK and Europe. A summer 2025 visit to London saw the quartet selling out six headline shows within a month; as excitement spread across the pond to the USA, where they have continued their ascent. Debut album What’s In Between more than justifies the insatiable hype, delivering well-observed, combustive earworms to an increasingly fervent, increasingly global fanbase. In August, Radio Free Alice played a free, DIY pop-up show in London, with over 500 fans turning up to a Bermondsey railway bridge on 6hrs’ notice to catch the band’s sundown performance.

Earlier in the summer, Radio Free Alice made their debut release on Atlantic Records with the single ‘Lunch Money’. That weekend, they went on to make their debut Gov Ball performance in NYC along with a sold-out after-show at Baby’s All Right.

The band is currently in the midst of playing a massive run of summer festivals, including Reading (UK), Riot Fest (US) and Austin City Limits (US). Radio Free Alice will tour the UK and Europe over November 2026 to bring What’s In Between to their snowballing fanbase. Tickets are selling fast with several dates sold-out and new shows added in Barcelona and Paris.
