chest. have unveiled ‘I’m Proud’, the closing track of their debut album Happy, Broken, due out on October 16 via Howlin’ Banana Records.
An industrial-inspired drum loop drives the song, in which vocalist Elliot approaches a breakup as a confrontation with the self, navigating guilt, anger, and the pride of having successfully moved on. Here, the band steps away from the post-punk/noise brutality of their previous singles to make more room for emotion, nuance, and silence.
chest. play a number of live dates before the end of the year including Leeds and Manchester on 10 and 11 November respectively.
