Marking their first release of 2026, Bricknasty have returned with their new single ‘bobinov’. Following the success of last year’s EP BLACKS LAW and a highly anticipated debut North American tour earlier this year, ‘bobinov’ is a natural propulsion of the group’s groove-led sonic identity. Beneath its club-ready energy, the song carries a quiet intensity, balancing its fluid stride with the emotional weight that has long defined Bricknasty’s world. Produced by Cillian McCauley, the track explores the space between connection and distance, with Fatboy’s raspy, colourful vocal delivery capturing both vulnerability and resolve.
“This song comes from our time touring overseas,” says Fatboy. “Just wanting to inject more energy into the live show and show case tight song writing that blasts angst and feeling out of it so we can rock the shop and give people that buzz when we’re all in the room.”
Accompanying the release is a visually striking new music video that expands the surreal world surrounding ‘bobinov’. Blending warped PS2-era video game aesthetics with hallucinatory stop-motion sequences, the video unfolds as a fever dream of animated absurdity and off-kilter charm. Equal parts nostalgic and unsettling, its playful visual language mirrors the track’s balance of energy and emotional depth. The stop-motion elements were created by some of the same animation team behind Bricknasty’s acclaimed ‘vinland’ video, bringing a familiar handcrafted unpredictability to the band’s latest visual outing and further cementing their reputation for building immersive worlds that exist entirely on their own terms.
The world of ‘bobinov’ is rooted in the same restless spirit that defined BLACKS LAW, Bricknasty’s 2025 EP that marked a pivotal moment in the band’s evolution. Across nine tracks, the Dublin group navigated faith, addiction, political disillusionment, and human volatility, creating a body of work where chaos and clarity existed side by side. Politically charged, spiritually searching, and sonically untethered, the project laced together Ireland’s bruised past with a fervent hope for the future, earning the likes of Rolling Stone UK, Dazed, Office Magazine, CRACK, The Observer’ and more.
The new single arrives off the heels of Bricknasty’s debut North-American tour. The band is also approaching the final dates of their European leg, supporting Loyle Carner in August and performing at some of the most exciting festivals of the Summer. As recipients of Notion New Music Award, Bricknasty build their reputation as one of Ireland’s most electrifying and unpredictable live acts, sharing stages with a genre-spanning list of luminaries including Aby Coulibaly, André 3000, Ezra Collective, and Coldplay (at a sold-out Croke Park). The Dublin group also recently supported Kneecap in the UK and Europe, and were slated to be openers on their entire sold-out North American tour in fall 2025.
