Crocodylus, the Gadigal/Sydney-based garage-punk quartet, today return with their first taste of new music for 2025, ‘Limbo’. Emerging in 2015 from a high school friendship between Josh Williams and Stephen Sacco, Crocodylus soon unfolded into a four-piece group along with Mikel Salvador Jara and Nick Meadows. They have shared stages with the likes of Ocean Alley, Hockey Dad and The Chats and embarking on their new chapter, the band set the tone with ‘Limbo’, a punchy number full of pure riffage and despite it going through twists and turns integral to the band’s next move, it wins you over with its thought-provoking strength and charm.

Speaking to the release, the band share:
With Limbo we wanted to create something called “beautiful punk”. It’s fast, gets heavier in the bridge and all comes together at the end with a tempo change and the addition of strings. This song is about not knowing where we fit into the music scene. Trying to dig ourselves out of the place we sit and starting again. It took a while to nail this one, but stoked where we landed with it.”

Alongside the release comes an accompanying video directed by Nathan Rathsam and Sinead Campion and starring Tiriel Mora from iconic Australian film The Castle. On making the video, Mikel from the band explains:
“The video clip for Limbo was shot in one busy day with a wonderful crew led by co-directors Nathan Rathsam and Sinead Campion. Somehow we managed to swing cult hero/character actor extraordinaire; Tiriel Mora in the lead role, was challenging not to call him Dennis Denuto (The Castle) during the shoot. The video clip explores the aspect of Limbo in an almost groundhog day-ish lens, the monotony of the western five day working week and its repression of the working class. Also we got to be silly and dance around with Tiriel and blow a saxophone in his face, what a good sport.”

Crocodylus are also excited to announce their signing of both global record deal and publishing deals with Sydney based independent ORiGiN Music Group. This marks a significant milestone in the band’s career, the multi-faceted deal will see Crocodylus release new music under the ORiGiN Recordings banner, while the bands complete song-writing catalogue will be represented by ORiGiN Music Publishing.
