teethin are a bold, eclectic new force rising from the heart of Wales with a sound as fierce and multifaceted as their roots. Today they share new single ’THROWIN SHAPES’ from newly announced debut EP Greed Between The Lines out 3 October via Silent Kid Records.
Combining the raw energy of punk with the pulse of electronic, dance, and rock, this boundary-smashing collective were formed in late 2024. Hailing from the Welsh Valleys to Athens, Ukraine, and the Philippines, teethin’s sound is chaotic, cathartic, and charged with purpose. Their debut tracks tackle classism, cultural apathy, and political blame, delivered through visceral vocals and pounding, genre-blending production. Led by Greek-Welsh artist James Minas, teethin are more than a band – it’s a movement.
A track that looks at the common ignorance we come across in our day-to-day, teethin say of ‘THROWIN SHAPES’:
“We were sat in the pub one time and heard a group of middle aged white men talking about how Katie Hopkins and Trump say it how it is. We started chatting about how these people are idolised and then others are almost manipulated to put the blame on what they don’t fully understand – be it down to ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or religion. Sometimes it feels like we’re just ants crawling over each other arguing amongst ourselves while being laughed at and spat on by the upper classes. We wrote this after that with the image of someone throwing shapes, like dancing in ignorance while the world burns around them kinda lodged in our heads. It’s a weird feeling and extremely frustrating.”
